I must say that I for one am happy that I never have to celebrate Singles Recognition Day again. Only Valentine’s Day for ever. And best of all, I get to celebrate with my best friend. I love you Alie!

I subscribe to the Real Simple magazine. It’s always full to great tips and tricks to make life easier and simpler. (If you don’t subscribe I would highly recommend getting on their email list. It comes about once a week and has pretty much the same stuff the magazine does.)
My favorite feature from a couple of months ago was the grocery list they included. They have it free to print on their website, and I print off one for each week. I use it while shopping, and love it because I can easily see what I need from each area of the store. I then tape it to our fridge and then can see my menu for the week (along with the list of fresh ingredients I bought for each recipe so they don’t get lost or forgotten in the fridge). I love the graphics on it, and being this organized makes me actually look forward to grocery shopping. Imagine that!

Valentine’s Day isn’t my favorite holiday. It’s too filled with cheesiness for me. Stuffed singing teddy bears, overpriced cliche roses, and chalk-tasting conversation hearts that make me want to throw up a little just aren’t my thing.
But I love valentines. I am an avid letter writer, and the idea of getting to send dozens to the people you love just makes me all giddy inside. Plus I can’t wait to design classy valentines for my kids one day. :)

What are you all doing for Valentine’s Day? I think we’re going to hit up a casual dinner on Friday or Saturday night. We typically don’t do much, although last year Tyler surprised me with a fantastic romantic candlelit dinner. It was lovely!

Oh, how I wish it were sunny and warm! The sun has been out lately but the weather has stayed chilly, keeping us indoors too much. I can’t complain about the mild winter we’re having, but I can’t wait til spring comes and Jack and I can take a walk everyday in the stroller.
I dressed Jack in slightly summery clothes to remind me that the groundhog says winter is almost over!
