Babies have the cutest fingers & toes, do they not?
(see that huge owie below his neck? that’s from a zipper on his jacket!)
This past weekend Tyler’s family came into town to drop off his stepbrother for college. We had a wonderful time hiking to the Timpanogas caves and going out to eat with them. Jack ate his first J-Dawgs and loved it! Yesterday we went to dinner and a baseball game in honor of my 23rd birthday. I think I’ve been to three baseball games on my birthday in the past seven years. Maybe it’s because my birthday falls around Father’s Day and baseball season?
Tyler got me a wonderful set of pots & pans for my birthday! I love, love, love them and even though we are moving next friday (!!) I already busted them out to use.
He also got me the Typestaches poster I wanted so badly! (Does he have good taste or what?) It looks even better in person and I am so so excited to hang it in our new apartment.
My sister Courtney knows how much I love to cook and got me the Our Best Bites cookbook. I’m excited to use it. The best part about the organization of the cookbook is all the beautiful pictures and the “rollover ingredients” list. When you buy cilantro, for instance, it lists it as a rollover and you can look up other recipes that use that same ingredient so you don’t waste that week. Genius.
Here are some scenes from the weekend:
Many thanks to my own father, who never ceases to provide endless laughter (even during the father-daughter dance at my wedding):

and to my husband, who I knew from the moment I met him he would make the most wonderful husband and daddy:

Don’t those two pictures just break your heart? I’m trying to contain tears of joy as I type this.
Our daddies deserve some MAJOR love this weekend for all that girl stuff they put up with. I sent my dad and father-in-law big squares of rich, homemade caramel bacon brownies. (Seriously, who doesn’t love bacon and chocolate?!) I’ve also got some nice surprises in line for Tyler, which I may or may not share with you next week. :) Happy Father’s Day!

Our (pro) photos are up for the dirty dash:

Don’t think they’re good enough to pay $10 for, but fun nonetheless.
(and last night I painted my toes and I think using nail polish remover I FINALLY got rid of all the dirt under my toenails!)
oh, and just for kicks, here I am walking down the water slide. Really, friends. Walking. I’m such a girl.
