Jack’s birthday party was this past weekend, and thankfully it didn’t rain. Just like our wedding, it rained several days before and after the big day, but Saturday was all sunshine and smiles. (I don’t know if we’ll get so lucky this next weekend when we’re getting our family photos taken!)
Maybe next time we’ll get a kid who will dive head first into the cake. Jack poked at the frosting with the tip of his finger, and that was that. What a let down, right? So he ended up eating his cake via fork. What a peculiar child he can be. (p.s. colored icing + drooly baby = rainbow drool!)
For the last last last time, Happy First Birthday, Jack.
For those subscribing to a feed, visit my blog to see all of the photos. There were so many I had a hard time narrowing them down so I made them into sort of a slideshow instead.
I love love love the cake and all the decorations!!! You are the perfect mother!!! I have no idea what to do for Josh’s birthday- not even for Christmas. What did you guys get him? I’m so sad we missed it. Looks like so so so much fun!
We got him a BYU Chevron car (an earlier gift from my parents when he was born, we just never opened it for him), three board books, and a wooden puzzle with knobs. But of course he cares WAY MORE about everyone else’s cooler and more exciting gifts. He got lots and lots of toy cars (probably close to twenty?), a big racetrack, some puppets, clothes, the vintage fisher price telephone (he loves to pull this around the house), more books, and a little people bus. Pretty much his entire birthday collection turned out to be Little People and Fisher Price. :)
