HAPPY HALLOWEEN! What are your plans for tonight? We actually have a Halloween Party to go to (dare I say it’ll be our first one ever?) so we’re excited for that. We’re going as Occupy Halloween Protesters!
My sister’s good friend Brittany came to the Safari Park with us on Friday. And it so happens that Brittany has a friend who works there as a zookeeper (is that the correct term?), so she took us behind-the-scenes for an hour! It was really fun to see all sorts of different animals up-close.
Because I can’t remember the exact names (or species) of the animals, I’ll summarize what we saw: a cheetah, a tiny porcupine that fits in your hand, a big porcupine that will curl up in your lap to give you kisses, two alligators, a hawk, three tortoises, a beautiful Australian bird (that is a “pest” in Australia — like our seagulls — but we think the bird beautiful here in the U.S.), wild dogs (the most rare wild dogs in the world, I might add), tiny white foxes, a lizard, and prairie dogs. Oh, and an owl or two. Am I missing anything? (Yes! We also saw an anteater named Lulu(?). She was adorable!)
It was really neat. Since my sister had the one baby that was too young to care about the camera, she took all the photos. I think she did a fantastic job! (And please ignore my pasty, whitey-white legs! Eeek!)
Lulu is Sadie’s hippo. I would remember if she and the anteater shared a name. But, it was something along those lines…maybe Lola???
Fun! I love your red lipstick!
