I came across this photo of my sister Courtney with baby Jack. Isn’t he a little “snuggly bunches of oats” (as his daddy calls him)?
Tonight I’m reminiscing. Time goes by so quickly. My other older sister Mackenzie just had her third baby today and seeing a picture of baby Carson reminds me of way back when Jack was that tiny. How incredible is the gift of life?
It’s cool that Jack is kinda mobile and wiggly and “independent” now. He’s a growing boy. He’s quite giggly and really fun to be around.
…but wasn’t it also pretty cool when he’d snuggle up on my chest unconditionally? When I didn’t need a toy to entertain him? When a mere 2-ounces of milk was enough to fill his tiny belly? Remember the days?
I know a lot of people hate the brand-new baby stage, but I loved the first two months of Jack’s life. He only woke up once a night to eat (like I’ve said, he is a GREAT sleeper!) and he was a snuggly little bug.
But alas, look how far we’ve come! He still loves to snuggle and is still an excellent sleeper. He loves his naptimes more than any kid I know and for that I am ever grateful.
I love you, baby Jack. Don’t grow up too fast.
