Really. This morning this kiddo was a beast. He decided to wake up sometime around 3am because his gums hurt. I really did feel bad for him, but I was grouchy grouchy grouchy. (I’m not a morning/3am type of gal. But then again, besides my husband, who is?!) It took me a while to coax him back to sleep but eventually he quieted down (which really means I left him whimpering in his crib while he played with toys in the dark for a half hour before nodding back off to dreamland.)
And then this morning he woke up at 6:30am. But you see, I’ve got this 7am rule. Don’t touch the sleeping giant (that’s me) before 7am or she’ll bite your head off. Ask Tyler and ask my parents. I’m a grouch in the wee hours of the morning and don’t like to be disturbed til somewhere around 9am, which is not conducive to having kids. But what can ya do. So the little beast (not beastly at this point yet, though) just played and squealed loudly until 7am. And then after he ate, he decided not to go back to bed until somewhere around 10:30am (he usually goes right back to bed for at least an hour). And he cried and squeaked and kicked his legs and had uber amounts of energy all morning long. I tried making him tired so he’d sleep but he was the energizer bunny that wouldn’t give up!
But then somewhere around 10:30am he fell asleep and I caught him like this:
How stinkin’ cute is that? I just want to squeeze his little bum. (Is that weird?) I wish I could fall asleep comfortably like this. Lucky dude.
And on another note, he started sitting up by himself on Wednesday (see above photos)! Yesssssss. I still don’t trust him enough to leave him alone like that, but he can sit up easily for 2-3 minutes now. Go Jack! Took ya long enough, dude.
Poor Jack! Teething is the pits! Try a frozen wash cloth–it will feel great for him while he gnaws on it, and you don’t have to worry about him swallowing Orajel or something.
And no, it isn’t wierd that you wanted to squeeze his little bum. Babies have the cutest little bums! I have the same urge with Soph’s chunky monkey legs.
