So…who knows how to knit? Crochet? (Obviously I don’t know the difference.) I want one of these hats for Jack, but can’t find one anywhere (we searched last night). His due date is less than a week and a half away. Hurry – will you teach me? (Mom? I know you made scarves a few years back…)

Honestly the easiest way to make hats for kids is with a hat loom- you see these a lot at youth activities, because they are pretty simple, you can even make the loom yourself with piece of wood and nails. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Hat-with-a-Knitting-Loom
My friend Nicole made me one for Ben (like the bottom picture but in blues). She does sell them- I think like $10 or $12
All of those hats are crocheted, but Kim is right, it would be relatively easy to make a similar looking one on a knitting loom. My mom has a knitting loom and lots of yarn; I can make you a hat over Thanksgiving if you would like.
Alicia – Really? We would LOVE one if you get bored and have time! I think I want to make one and combine both styles – we like the last two (with the ear flaps/danglies) but with a puff on top too. I just think they are so darn cute.
I think I want to learn to make some over Christmas break. Or early January, when hopefully life has settled down a bit! I'm so glad you all say they are quite easy! That's reassuring. :)
Yeah! I can find some time to experiment. They probably won't look as cute as the pictures, but I will try. What colors? Also, I might be able to bring back a loom that you can borrow if you would like.
We love the third one down. Blues, greens, browns…whatever you like.
It won't be till January, but I can get them here in Germany galore! They're cute ones too… :)
Let me know.

Yes, yes, yes Linze! I bet they are WAY cuter there than here! European stuff always seems to be :)
