Oh wait. You can’t.

From what I’ve found, there isn’t really one tried and true method for teaching baby to sip from a straw. All of my friend’s babies seemed to do it earlier than Jack, maybe around seven months or so. We kept sticking the straw in front of him and in his mouth hoping he’d figure it out but he just looked at us like we were stupid or something!

Finally tonight while we were celebrating Tyler’s belated birthday dinner at Chilis, he suddenly caught on to this whole straw thing. The waitress must have thought we were crazy but we were really excited! Go Jack!

Moral of the story is that it might take longer than you expect. But one day out of the blue they’ll get it!
